We were photographing in the Castello of Pierle in Cortona, Tuscany. They had closed down the castle for two days so we could roam it photographing the nudes freely. This image was created on the first day with Nikki. We were working with the available light streaming in through the window. There was a small reflector adding a little fill light for detail. The light in Italy is so wonderfully soft and delicate, especially Tuscany light. We spent a little time getting the tugging of the dress just right. It is digitally painted to capture the sense of the era. Nikki easily slipped into this expression that is so classic for the mood.
