The Eiffel Tower is so iconic. I must admit, though, that nothing prepares you for seeing the real structure. It is more intricate, imposing, and inspiring than you can imagine. This was in January with a wonderfully overcast sky. Cloud cover gives such soft revealing light that no detail is lost to shadows. With time constraints we sadly did not have time to move up the tower, but the series from the ground may be more powerful than up. Seeing it up close, I wondered what the effort and cost would be to keep the steel from rusting.
This image is a fun angle, working with very wide-angle lens, it can be twisted and turned for effect.
