On a trip through Canada’s maritime province Nova Scotia, we came across this pastoral scene. Coming from Calgary, over 3,000 km west of here, we were seeing things that were so different from our roots in the Rockies. It should have been raving excitement but we caught the calmness of the day breaking moment. The water was like glass, nothing seemed to move; everything felt like it never moved. There was such a stillness we whispered. It was interesting, on reflection, that we sat down for a bit to watch absolutely nothing happen. It was one of the most peaceful moments I have ever had. Even taking the image did not break the spell.
